Working Remotely in Siargao
Siargao has not just become a paradise for tourists but also for digital nomads. Due to its fast-growing developments, many establishments are now equipped with fast internet connectivity around the island. If you plan to work while exploring the island, there are three options to work at; 1) hotel/hostel you can check into, 2) restaurants and coffee shops, and 3) co-working spaces.
My hostel recommendation would be Lexias Hostel & Workspace Siargao as I have experienced staying at their hostel for 6 days and 5 nights. They have a wide space for outdoor and indoor workstations, multiple Starlink Wi-Fi connections, a 24/7 standby generator, and a restaurant. They also offer long-term reservation rates for those who would like to stay longer on the island.

Indoor air-conditioned room for meetings
The hostel is 1 km away from the town center so you can surely be able to work in a quiet setting while enjoying the rustic view. If you plan to stay at hotels in the town center, you can avail their hourly and daily rate access to their workspaces. There are other hostels that can be considered which offer the same amenities such as Sunlit Hostel and Sinag Hostel. Alter Space can be an option too if you only need a working space for a short period of time.
Another option is to work in different restaurants and coffee shops that are wifi enabled.
The establishments in the town proper are normally equipped with fast internet. You can order one drink or meal and request their Wi-Fi password. Some recommendations are Spotted Pig, Bravo Restaurant, Sibol, White Beard Coffee, Shaka Siargao, etc.
Although Siargao Island has become adaptive to the needs of digital nomads, there are other things you may want to consider when deciding to work remotely on the island. One downside is the island-wide blackouts and some areas with unstable signals. It is always recommended to bring your personal internet connection backup and powerbanks.
Overall, Siargao is a great place to experience a real work-life balance. There are many places to explore and exciting activities to try whenever you feel the need to relax from a long day of work. Having been able to earn while enjoying life is everyone’s dream!
